English as an Additional Language

English as an Additional Language (EAL) supports students who are new to learning the English language. These students are proficient in additional languages other than English and need to develop their English language skills to be successful in the classroom.   

The goal of this program is to develop language and literacy skills along with teaching students new to English some of the culture and customs related to living in Canada.
